Crew Management


Our strength is the quality of our seafarers. The selection process, training and a career path, ensure knowledgeable, well trained and motivated seafarers deployed on board the ships we manage.
Through the Crew Management program, our Marine HR department is able to plan and process crew who have the required training,skills and certification for a particular ship type.
Though our seafarer pool comprises mainly of Indian nationals, we have access to crew of other nationalities. As part of our procedures and quality process, manning agents and training institutes we use are audited on a regular basis.

 

Operations

  •   Post Fixture Management to fulfil charter party agreement
  •   Vessel operational support for cargo handling
  •   Execution of all commercial contracts (spot and time charter voyages)
  •   Monitoring Operational performance of a set of vessels within the fleet, including stoppages, performance review, reporting and negotiating claims
  •   Liaison with Vessel / Customers / Brokers / Vendors / Vessel Managers
  •   Monitor and review vessels commercial performance
  •   Analyse & Monitor post fixture issues
  •   Advises vessels with respect to safety of navigation. E.g, rough weather, UKC etc.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Act as regulators to promote safety of life, property & environment
  • Plan & perform the SHEQS functions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, of Flag, Class & Port State
  • Maintain commercial tradability by obtaining Oil major approvals.
  • Promoting a safe & responsible working culture onboard through training, monitoring & reviews
  • Reduce the number of accidents, incidents by monitoring compliance, and providing feedback
  • Continuous improvement of our SMS through experience Feedback & adopting best industry practices

Environment

  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Work with owners to go beyond compliance & exceed industry standards

Vetting

  • The ships managed by SHIPCARE are approved by leading oil major companies.
  • Each vessel has a minimum acceptance by at least 4 major oil companies approvals or otherwise instructed / required by charterers.
  • SHIPCARE will take the necessary steps to extend / renew these approvals in time before expiry and to obtain additional approvals.
  • SHIPCARE will maintain the vessels to ensure high standard and quality systems to fulfill Oil Company requirements.

Inspections

  • All of our vessel will be visited & inspected frequently to comply with Rules & Regulations as well as with company procedures.
  • Review, Feedback and Assessment of each inspection will be verified during regular Management Reviews and Audits on board and ashore.

Through our well established working relationship with the insurance underwriting markets and the insurance brokers, we are able to assist our principals in obtaining competitive rates for H&M and P&I coverage. Our insurance department is also involved in handling and settlement of Owners claims as well as assisting in the process of insurance policy renewal.
